When interpreting any form of medium, there are at least three different perspectives we must consider. 1. How we consciously contain to ourselves, 2. How others perceive us, and 3. How the medium is perceived objectively. In The Yellow composition, this is doubly complicated by the fact that we are push to go to a story (the medium of indite words) by dint of the perspective of some ace else (the medium of the writer). And how are we to believe what we hear? Even assuming that every superstar we speak to in our daily ado is sane, are we to believe everything we hear? The wise and squared-toe would around certainly say not. So how are we to turnaround time our hesitancy? How are we to accredit this psyche for anything taken from a virtually personal perspective as say, a journal? Do we look for signs of affirmation? Of sincerity? Of some figure of self-colored bases for which we may identify with? Where, if anywhere, can these be install? And i f we look hard enough, is there really enough to bob up in the story, to help us believe our neurotic bank clerk? In The Yellow Wallpaper, we begin on a distressing note. The narrator, it seems, starts absent crazy, leaving the reader with a limited thoroughfare on which to tread. If we read it the way it is supposed to be written (like a diary), consequently we are clearly reading the literary works of, if nil else, an eccentric. Within the offset few paragraphs the writer already begins to fill rhetorical questions to herself while simultaneously acknowledging that no one else pass on be reading her writings, and that the paper she writes on is nothing much than dead paper and a heavy(p) relief to my head teacher (Gilman 325). She uses questions in the third person such as, What can one do (325), given her circumstances. She mechanically attributes any sanity and heavy reason to herself while dismissing first her husbands and then her brothers perspectives as ludicrous, which is also a sensibly typ! ical sign of the mentally disturbed.
